How Firefox Has Become My Daily Hub
Feb 10th
I can remember not so long ago, I bet less than 18 months, when I’d have all sorts of software open just to run my day to day admin.
Back when I was rockin’ Windows I had all sorts of bits open in my task bar to get me through the day. It struck me earlier this week that everything that I do now is pretty much centralised online and that Firefox has become my central hub for everything.
Whether it’s management, invoicing, relationship management or even mundane things like mail or calendar (granted I do used the native Mac apps too More >
Mac vs PC 2010 – Life One Year After Moving To Mac
Dec 19th
Last November I finally made the jump from PC to Mac, an iMac 27 dual core running Snow Leopard to be precise, following my love for the iPhone. Since then I’ve also gotten myself a MacBook Pro 13 inch (that I’m writing this on as we speak) so that I can work a little more mobile and be less constrained to me desk.
Prior to owning my iMac I’d never owned a Mac, nor had I worked on one. but, growing tired of Windows lack of stability and my system slowing down in almost a direct opposite to Moore’s Law, I decided More >
FaceTime For Mac Review – Tentative First Thoughts
Oct 21st
Hey guys
Apple just announced FaceTime beta for Mac is available, and I’ve had a play around with it for half an hour so thought I’d share a quick little review.
I’ve used myself as a guinea pig for this first FaceTime for Mac review but I got a good feel for it.
My Little FaceTime For Mac ReviewThe interface is really nice; clean, simple and elegant, and the calling from my Mac to iPhone worked beautifully. I had some trouble connecting when I tried to place a call from my iPhone to the Mac though, it wouldn’t connect – wonder if More >

Mac Dashboard Freezes / Mac Dashboard Not Working – Try This
Jul 11th
I had a very bizarre situation last week where my Mac Dashboard started experiencing freezes, and when the Mac Dashboard freezes your widgets just do not work!
I’d never come across it before and, after some digging around on plenty of forums I was advised that if my Mac Dashboard is not working, it could be an issue with a corrupt preference file.
Mac Dashboard Freezes / Dashboard Not Working – The SolutionOpen up: home folder > library > preferences and delete: com.apple.dashboard.plist.
Now restart your Mac and all of your Dashboard widgets should be reset to default and working again.
Stop The “Play / Pause” Button Controlling iTunes When Using Spotify On A Mac
Jul 9th
This is only a little one but it was a right pain in the proverbial…. When you’re listening to Spotify on your Mac and you hit “Play / Pause” on your little Mac keyboard, sure Spotify pauses – but iTunes opens up too; if you’ve already got iTunes open (syncing your phone for example) then it starts playing the selected track.
What a pain!
Anyway, thankfully there’s a very easy fix…
Stopping Your Mac “Play / Pause” Button Controlling iTunes When Listening To SpotifyAll you need to do is hold down “Shift + Alt” whilst you press “Play / Pause” and voila, More >
