Hey all

I’ve put together a bit of a starter CSS stylesheet for you to use within your own mojoPortal themes and skins.

I was putting this together for a colleague to start building a mojoPortal theme and decided to make it available for you all to download for free. It contains the basic and most common elements for starting your mojoPortal skins / themes and includes comments to tell you what’s included and what isn’t.

It’s by no means the most comprehensive stylesheet out there, but if you’re looking at starting your own mojoPortal theme / skin from scratch based on an existing HTML or PSD file, it should save you some time. Using the stylesheets from the brilliant pre-installed mojoPortal skins is a great way to go too, but sometimes you can’t see the wood for the trees when deciding what to remove or amend; this starter stylesheet should help you out.

The most important thing to remember is that your CSS needs to be clean, concise and quick to load. With this in mind I’ve tried to set this starter mojoPortal theme stylesheet up so that it has a lot of “reusables” towards the top of the stylesheet.

This means that, when creating your mojoPortal skins you can simply assign reusable classes to any given HTML element – for example to float things to the left yo can simply add the class of “fl” to the elements as opposed to creating CSS rules for each element.

If you can think of any improvements or would like to make any amends, please feel free and just upload a link to your version in the comments section.

Have fun working with mojoPortal themes and skins; if you find this stylesheet useful please let me know in the comments section or via Twitter.

Happy skinning!
