This is a fun little post, I use the Paymo Mac dashboard widget to track my time on client jobs, blogging and so on. I have this on my Mac Snow Leopard dashboard which is fantastic.

The only problem is that sometimes I forget to either start the timer or stop the timer when I start / finish work on a particular task. The reason for this is that the Paymo widget is on my Mac Dashboard and I just simply forget to bring the dashboard up, because it isn’t there in my face yelling at me to do it.

To aid this I’ve found a couple of interesting features on how to detach your dashboard widgets from your Mac OSX dashboard.

How To Detach Widgets From Your Mac Dashboard

For the Terminal lovers: http://www.askdavetaylor.com/dashboard_widgets_on_my_mac_os_x_desktop.html

For the lovers of the easy life (like me!): http://homepage.mac.com/neticen/devmode.html

It’s only a little tidbit but to detach dashboard widgets from your Mac dashboard could prove to be a quiet little gem.

Have you been using this and how do you find it?
