mojoPortal Now Supported By Artisteer
Joe Audette has recently announced the fantastic news that mojoPortal skins are now compatible with Artisteer.
Over on the mojoPortal blog Joe mentions that a couple of Artisteer designs are actually included as skins in the new release.
For anyone unfamiliar with Artisteer it’s a fantastic licensed product which allows you to build a web design using a drag and drop interface; adding advanced elements and navigations with ease.
Artisteer then allows you to export your design in a variety of instantly compatible formats for some of the most popular web platforms out there, including WordPress, Joomla and now mojoPortal.
It’s a double edged sword for mojoPortal; skins are now easier to create (even though most designers I suspect will stick with the Photoshop slice and dice method for flexibility) and the inclusion of mojoPortal as a supported platform adds credibility to this fantastic system whilst showing it’s growth.
Have you tried mojoPortal with Artisteer? Let us know how you got on!

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the coverage of our support for Artisteer!
Just to clarify a little, there was no change in Artisteer to support mojoPortal. Artisteer does not output mojoPortal skins the way it does for some other CMS platforms.
What we’ve done in mojoPortal is made it possible to render the markup and CSS classes used by Artisteer. This makes it easy to take the standard html template output from Artisteer and create a mojoPortal skin in a few easy steps documented here: http://www.mojoportal.com/creating-skins-from-artisteer-html-templates.aspx
We hope that Artisteer might consider outputting mojoPortal skins directly at some point, we made the job much easier for them if they wanted to implement that. As I understand it they have requests to produce output for about 80 different CMS platforms and of course they are also working hard to improve the Artisteer features. Currently for example only horizontal menus are supported in Artisteer, but the next version will also support vertical menus. So, I’m not holding my breath for direct output of mojoPortal skins, but it really is a very easy process to work from the html output format that Artisteer already has. As soon as they make the next release of Artisteer we plan to add support for the new vertical menus.
Best Regards,
Joe
