New website accessibility guidelines announced, does your site measure up?

The World Wide Web Consortium has just announed their new standard for making websites and web applications more accessible to the older generation and people with disabilities.

The new guidelines are intended to make websites far more friendly towards things such as screen readers to aid the visually impaired and it’s important that all companies undertake website reviews to ensure these standards are met and that their website is as accessible as possible to everyone visiting it.

Just a quick little post to wish everyone a very merry Xmas and all the best for 2009!

How to log in to your Design Loft webmail

Hey hey

Just a quickie to let you all know about the new webmail facilities that come with all our monthly hosting and marketing packages.

Webmail allows you to log on and pick up new emails from any computer with an internet connection, you can also send emails to current contacts and configure your mobile phone / PDA to send and receive these mails too (give us a call to ask about that on 0800 112 3403).

So, to log in simply head over to http://www.thedesignloft.co.uk, scroll to the bottom and click "Webmail Login" on the right.  Enter your login More >

P.A. Audio gets a new online store and hits top spot on Google.

The Design Loft have recently completed the design of a new ecommerce website for Mexborough based music shop P.A. Audio.

The site features full content management and the siet has been fully optimisted for search engines; currently ranking naturally #1 on Google worldwide for search terms "guitar shop Rotherham", with first page rankings for "drum shop Rotherham", "bass guitar shop Rotherham" and "music shop Rotehrham", all main keywords requested by Paul at P.A.

The site is also currently sat with a 1st page Google ranking for "music shop Yorkshire" and "guitar shop Yorkshire", beating the big guns like Electro Music.
